    • heavy metal-containing skin disinfectant use (prior to patch)

    Mechanism Of Action
    lidocaine inhibits Na ion channels, inhibiting nerve impulse initiation and conduction (amide local anesthetic); epinephrine stimulates alpha and beta receptors, producing local vasoconstriction which prolongs local anesthetic effects
